Due to its convenient and enviable location and within striking distance of the glorious beaches of the Gold Coast, Brisbane is a popular destination for both national and international tourists in Australia. Brisbane is also ideally located as a stopover for tourists wishing to visit the unique Great Barrier Reef, perhaps the most popular and iconic Australian landmark. The city itself also offers visitors all the attractions you would expect from a cosmopolitan city with a population of around two million.
As is the case throughout Australia, the distances involved between Brisbane and the other major cities are huge, especially when compared to the UK.
As an example, Brisbane is almost 630 miles by road from the nearest major Australian city, Sydney. This means that rather than undertaking an exhausting drive of around 11 hours to get from one to the other, most travellers would travel by plane. In contrast to driving flights Brisbane to Sydney take a much more comfortable hour and twenty minutes.
This is far more convenient and speedy choice of transport will allow the visitor the luxury of arriving at their destination relatively stress free and alert. They will then be able to continue their journey to their chosen final destination in the same day if possible; allowing them more free time to enjoy the remainder of their holiday.
