Travelling From the West to the East Coasts of Australia

Sydney Harbour Brdge
Flying into Sydney from Perth, you may
well catch a glimpse of the bridge.

The capital city of Western Australia, Perth is also the largest city in the state, with a population of nearly 2 million. Nestled between the Darling Range and the Indian Ocean, the city has been listed as one of the top 10 most liveable cities in the world by “The Economist”. Captain James Stirling established Perth in 1829, claiming the entire region for Britain in an attempt to prevent France from colonising Australia.

The city experienced a slow but steady growth rate until the end of the 19th century, when gold was discovered in the area. The discovery resulted in a population boom, and the city continued to flourish as the University of Western Australia was built and electric trams were built. Locating cheap Perth to Sydney flights can easily and affordably connect commuters, holiday travellers and those who are relocating.

Perth is one of the most multicultural cities in the country, with more than 200 nationalities represented and people from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds spread throughout the city. Cultural groups abound, allowing people to get together with those of like backgrounds and similar interests, while a multitude of religious venues cater to the spiritual needs of Perth residents. Restaurants are just as varied, even catering to specific dietary requirements, from strict kosher to vegan.

Cultural venues include museums, galleries, theatres and more. The city is home to the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Ballet, and the Perth Concert Hall is a major entertainment venue. The Art Gallery of Western Australia houses numerous exhibitions and the State Art Collection, while the Western Australian Museum houses numerous ancient Aboriginal artefacts.

While Perth is known for its friendly lifestyle, warm sunshine, brilliant beaches, family friendly entertainment and breathtaking natural attractions, Sydney is known for its faster-paced lifestyle, with pleasant weather, vibrant nightlife and shopping around every corner, along with its easy access to natural wonders and national parks, such as the Blue Mountains region. Relocating from Perth to Sydney can bring with it many exciting changes, including a change of scenery and many exciting new opportunities.

Perth and Sydney are both comparatively remote cities. However, because Sydney is one of the most well-travelled cities in the country, it can be easier to find affordable airfare to both domestic and international cities, making it an easier city in which to live and work.
